Members Help Others 2008

Missouri Credit Union’s (MCU) Fundraising Committee organizes events and activities throughout the year to benefit non-profit organizations.  Committee members include: Mary Atkisson, Norine Bailey, Adriane Doerhoff, Ashley Edler, Jennifer Eibel, Amanda Love, Michelle McNeeley, and Sherri Neuner.

In 2008, the committee will focus their efforts to assist the organizations below:

CCN

CMN is a year-round fundraising program to benefit hospitals providing health care for children. Created by the Osmond Foundation in 1983, the Children's Miracle Network has grown to include 170 hospitals throughout the United States, Canada, and Mexico.  In Columbia, the University of Missouri’s Children’s Hospital is the only hospital in mid-Missouri offering comprehensive, specialized children’s services.

Columbia Area United Way

United Way is a partnership of volunteers, donors, businesses and service providers who come together with common goals - to build strong families, help kids succeed and promote health and independence.  In fact, over 100,000 mid-Missourians use services provided by 32 United Way member agencies each year. That’s 1 in 5 people in our area.

United Way of Central Missouri

The United Way of Central Missouri assists our neighbors in six counties through a broad range of human care services.  A total of 25 member agencies and programs offer a variety of services to children and adults; the disabled; senior citizens; low-income families; victims of abuse, disease or disaster; and others in need.

Camp Hickory Hill

Camp Hickory Hill has been in operation since 1971 and is located 5 miles outside of Columbia, MO. The camp serves children and teens ages 8 to 17 who have insulin-dependent diabetes.  Its mission is to educate these boys, girls, young men and women to manage and control their own diabetes in partnership with their families and health providers.

Show-Me Central Habitat for Humanity

Through volunteer labor and donations of money and materials, Habitat builds and rehabilitates simple, decent houses with the help of the homeowner (partner) families. Habitat houses are sold to partner families at no profit and financed with affordable loans.

Every January MCU accepts applications for the Pauline “Pat” Miles Scholarship, the Alan T. Busby Scholarship, and the Anthony P. Lampe Scholarship ($2,000 each). The recipients will receive the scholarship funds for use toward the college or university of their choice.

This year's scholarship applications will be accepted from January 2008 through April 2008. For more 2008 Scholarship information just review the MCU Scholarship Info and Application.
